Parents and professionals who work with young children are often concerned that something may be different with their child's development, but are not sure if they should seek evaluation or "watch and wait." It is critical that any child suspected of having a developmental delay receive early and appropriate intervention. In this presentation, Dr. Warner will clarify the different disorders on the autism spectrum and highlight early warning signs and risk factors for diagnosis. She will also describe available treatment options. Discussion will focus on common parental questions about development in young children, and how to decide whether something is "just a phase" or raising a red flag for concerns.
