About
Shannon Rozell staffs the Executive Outreach initiatives of Brighton Hospital in Brighton, Michigan. Shannon has served as Secretary and Conference Chairperson for the Saline Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking (SCRUD) since 2006. Shannon also teaches a seven-week court diversion program for adolescents struggling with early substance abuse concerns. The P.I.E. program (Prevention, Intervention, Education) is a division of Novi Youth Assistance. Shannon is currently in process of earning her Master's in Public Administration (MPA) and hopes to make a difference in policy change by advocating for better healthcare benefits and treatment for adolescents and adults struggling with addiction. "It's about knowledge and dignity. By educating people about the disease of addiction and how to put this disease into remission, dignity is restored and quality of life is possible. I'd rather see our tax dollars spent on education, treatment and rehabilitation than punishment, incarceration and lifelong government assistance for the allegedly unemployable."
